after much debate leopardstar finally leapt onto high ledge. he looked out over the camp before declaring, "let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather below high ledge for a clan meeting!" he paused thinking about his choices. he pondered for a few moments while his clans cats gathered.

Silverpaw padded to the highledge. It was his apprentice ceremony. He will get a mentor. He can't wait to see who it will be. He wanted to start training, to learn how to hunt and learn to behave like a real clan cat. The times of endless boredom will be gone, the times of always playing like a kit.

Lightpaw came up next top Silverpaw, not really very exited. It just meant that his days would no longer be filled romping with kits, listening to elders and stuff. He yawned and looked around, wondering who the unlucky victim would be. Oh well, lets get this over with. Not like Leoparstar knows what he's doing...
Duskpelt padded out the warrior's den and went up to the bottom of the high-ledge. The deputy yawned and looked up, seeing two fairly new apprentices. About time they got mentors. One would have thought Leopardstar had assigned them when they where made apprentices. Oh well.

leopardstar glanced down at the apprentices, he seemed to see right into lightpaw's mind despite this being impossible. but he knew from the apprentices' look that he was quite obviously bored and obviously liked his days without a mentor. but he was an apprentice for a reason, to train to be a warrior and keep the clan safe.
clearing his throat leopardstar straightened up forgetting his thoughts and focussing on the task at hand. he looked down at the apprentices once more before looking out over his cats. "today we gather to have a proper ceremony for two special apprentices, silverpaw please step forward, " leopardstar started allowing the first apprentice time to step forward. "you wish to train as a warrior and your mentor shall help you on your path to being a warrior," leopardstar paused leaving himself lots of time to make sure he had chosen appropriate mentors. "duskpelt i trust you to train silverpaw in the ways of the warrior code." he mewed nodding respectively to his deputy.

Silverpaw's eyes shone. The deputy will be his mentor! He couldn't believe it. He stepped forward and touched noses with Leopardstar before doing the same with Duskpelt. After this long long boredom he finally has a mentor for his own. He now will be the best warrior in the whole territories.

Lightpaw's mouth widened. How could Silverpaw get a better mentor than he? Life was so unfair! He wanted an important cat to mentor him, not some crusty old flea-bag.
Duskpelt smiled at the apprentice and padded up to touch noses with him. "I will do my best." SHe murmered to her apprentice. Her composture remained and she seemed quite bored with the whole thing, but her eyes gave her away.

"lightpaw step forward please." leopardstar mewed with a happy sparkle in his eyes. "it has been a while since i have had my own apprentice, i will mentor you lightpaw, in the ways of the warrior code so that when you are older, our clan will strive." he leapt down padding over to his new apprentice and touching noses with him.

Lightpaw shrugged, touched his mentors nose and jumped away.
